Adrienne

Adrienne Johnson

Executive Director, Gerontologist, Initiative Manager, The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving

 

A leader in Virginia’s aging network, Adrienne joined the VirginiaNavigator team in 2004 and has held various aging related positions in her career.  As Executive Director, she works in partnership with the public, non-profit, and private sectors and is responsible for the development, marketing, board oversight and operational management of VirginiaNavigator.  Prior to becoming Executive Director, Adrienne served as a member of the organization’s Leadership Team while performing her duties as Director of Website Operations.  As Director of Website Operations, she was responsible for the oversight of the VirginiaNavigator and its Family of Websites and management of website content and data based on consumer needs and current issues in aging.  Additionally, she has served as project and grant manager for several of VirginiaNavigator’s major initiatives.  

Adrienne earned her Master’s degree in Gerontology with a concentration in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Connecticut. She serves on the board of the Virginia Quality Healthcare Network (VQHN) and on the VGEC Plenary Committee and the VCoA Advisory Committee, as well as a host of other coalitions and committees serving the aging and disability communities throughout Virginia.

 

Kim

Kim Tarantino

Deputy Director, Special Project Lead, The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving

 

Kim joined the VirginiaNavigator Team in the fall of 2003 after earning her B.A. in Communication from Mary Baldwin College and has served in several roles with the organization.  As VirginiaNavigator’s Deputy Director, Kim has oversight of all programs, selected special initiatives and partnerships, all marketing and outreach initiatives and overall operations for the organization. Additionally, Kim leads VirginiaNavigator’s Community Team which provides outreach across the Commonwealth.   Kim proudly serves on the No Wrong Door Resource Advisory Council and the Greater Richmond Age Wave Readiness Leadership Coalition and as a member of the coalition’s Business for Life Work Group – representing VirginiaNavigator and its Lindsay Institute.

 

Christa Flippen

Project Coordinator

 

Christa joined VirginiaNavigator in 2018 with experience in sales, training, and customer service. In her role as Project Coordinator, she assists with data management of VirginiaNavigator’s 26,000+ listings, staffs our call center to help connect people with local resources, and provides administrative support throughout the organization. Christa strives to grow by continuing to learn every day and appreciates the positive impact non-profits make on the community. A lover of the art of dance, Christa is also a dance teacher at a studio where she teaches young children, helping to instill that same love and passion in them. Christa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Teresa

Teresa Lavinder Zeigler

Community Resource Specialist, Database Curator

 

Teresa joined the organization in 2014 and lives in Vinton, Virginia. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her work as a 2-1-1 Virginia Community Resource Specialist and with federal, state, and local disability and aging service agencies and programs. She enjoys serving caregivers, service providers, older adults and people with disabilities. She currently holds the CIRS and CRS-A/D certification given by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS). Teresa is in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Hollins University.

 

Maggie

Maggie Menard

Data Specialist

 

Maggie joined VirginiaNavigator prior to launch in 2000 as one of the organization's first full-time employees. Maggie’s history with VirginiaNavigator provides a valuable perspective in understanding the evolution of the database. Maggie is responsible for entering, verifying and  updating information both on-line and by phone and assists in educating providers how to input changes regularly. Maggie also answers the Help Line for consumers who need help finding services in their city or county.  She previously served as billing clerk and bookkeeper. She attended the University of Mississippi and has completed several business and computer courses designed for non-profit agencies.

 

Alice

Alice Reiniger

Call Specialist

 

Alice joined the organization as a call specialist. Her primary focus is to assist those seeking assistance with finding local resources. Alice has over 15 years of experience in sales and training, predominantly in the pharmaceutical industry. In recent years she has been a community volunteer with several nonprofit organizations. She received a BA with honors from the University of New Hampshire.

 

Bonnie Scimone

Lead Community Specialist and Marketing Assistant

 

Bonnie joined VirginiaNavigator in 2004 and serves as the Community Outreach and Marketing Specialist and as the community specialist for Central and Southside Virginia and works with 7 local government partnerships. Bonnie has over 20 years of experience in sales, training, and relationship development. Before joining the organization, Bonnie had a proven record of success in marketing communications. Previously, as an independent business owner, she designed and implemented comprehensive incentive programs and facilitated training programs focused on career development and team-building. She graduated from Longwood College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and received her Elementary Education Teaching Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Victoria Sheridan

Project Manager and Marketing Specialist

 

Victoria Sheridan joined VirginiaNavigator in 2021 with experience in project management, marketing, community partnerships, and board relations. As the Project Manager and Marketing Specialist she will help manage and support multiple key projects, initiatives, and partnerships, as well as support VirginiaNavigator’s marketing and outreach efforts. For the past five years, she has dedicated her time to community nonprofits. Victoria received her undergraduate degree from Converse College and is currently working on a Master’s in Public Administration at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

Cindy

Cindy Markham

Roanoke Valley-New River Valley  (email Cindy)

 

Cindy joined VirginiaNavigator in January of 2019 as the Community Specialist for Southwest Virginia covering Alleghany, Bath, New River Valley, Roanoke, and surrounding counties. Cindy brings over twenty years of experience in sales, marketing, and operations from the healthcare industry. She has worked in long term care, hospice, assisted living, long term acute care and care giving. She graduated with honors from Bluefield College with a Bachelor in Organizational Management and holds an Associate degree in Mental Health from Virginia Western Community College.  Cindy is responsible for nearly 60 Navigator Centers and one Local Government Partnership.
